Victorian Lifestyles, Victorian Art, Victorian Decor
Everything Victorian!

The Victorians were a different type of people. It was in the days when a man's word was good, and a woman's too. Women made a career out of running a household, and made it look like an art. Men were protective of their wives, and never cursed in front of them, or at least apologized when they did. They were gentlemen, and opened doors for the ladies, then walked on the outside of the sidewalk to keep them from getting splashed if a horse and carriage happened by.

In those days, they did not have electricity, and they did not have motorized vehicles, until the end of the era. They did not have running water, nor did they have super markets. They did have style, and they had an abundance of creativity and keen minds. The pioneer spirit was still very much a part of the Victorian life.

The Victorian era was marked by the reign of Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1901 . She was born Alexandrina Victoria in 1819. On June 20, 1837, with the death of her uncle, William IV, she became queen at the age of eighteen.

I am also interested in the Art Deco era, the Arts & Crafts era, and on to the 50s.  I collect items from these eras, and may find the time soon to place my collections here.
